Material details

SMC insulation board is made of unsaturated polyester resin as the matrix, added with short cut glass fibers, flame retardants, and temperature resistant fillers, and molded by high temperature and high pressure molding. Among them, flame retardants such as aluminum hydroxide and phosphorus compounds are commonly used, and temperature resistant fillers can improve the high-temperature performance of materials.

Performance Characteristics

-Corrosion resistance: It can withstand acidic and alkaline media with pH 2-12, organic solvents, and salt spray environments. It has passed the GB/T 10125-2021 salt spray test for 1000 hours without corrosion, with a dense and pore free surface to prevent interlayer peeling caused by medium penetration.

-High temperature stability: The long-term working temperature range is -50 ℃ to 180 ℃, the short-term peak temperature resistance is 220 ℃, the hot deformation temperature is ≥ 200 ℃ (ASTM D648 standard), and the low thermal conductivity is 0.2-0.3W/(m · K), which is more than 90% lower than that of metals.

-Flame retardant performance: Oxygen index ≥ 32% (GB/T 2406.2), meets UL94 V-0 flame retardant standard, self extinguishes upon ignition without melting droplets, smoke density level released during high-temperature decomposition ≤ 50 (GB/T 8323.2).

-Mechanical performance: The impact strength can reach 90KJ, the bending strength can reach 170MPa, the mechanical strength is high, and the density is generally between 1.8-2.0g/cm ³, which is 50% lighter than stainless steel and has the advantage of lightweight.

-Electrical performance: The volume resistance can reach 1 × 10 ¹⁴ Ω, the withstand voltage can reach 12KV/mm, and the insulation performance is excellent.

-Aging resistance: it will not change or deteriorate significantly when used under natural conditions, and it is shown by aging resistance test.

Application field

-Electrical industry: commonly used for insulation partitions of high, medium, and low voltage switchgear, as well as insulation structural components of electrical equipment.

-Automotive industry: can be used to manufacture body parts, insulation panels in engine compartments, battery racks, etc.
